Steven P. Walton - President & Chief Executive Officer
Steven P. Walton is Chief Executive Officer of USAN. Mr. Walton served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing from 1994 to 1999 as the company expanded its customer base and launched a retail carrier division. Prior to joining USAN, Mr. Walton held a variety of senior management positions at MCI Communications Corporation from 1986-1994. While at MCI, Mr. Walton worked in Finance, Partner Marketing and Corporate Product Marketing and was Product Manager of a number of business services products including MCI Maximum Security; from 1989 to 1992, he managed the MCI fax Call Center in Washington, D.C. Mr. Walton has a BS in Finance from Virginia Tech.
Rocky Livingston - CIO & Senior Vice President, Operations
Robert "Rocky" Livingston joined USAN in March of 1991 as the company's head of operations and engineering. Mr. Livingston has the overall responsibility for the operation and management of USAN's call processing and web services platforms. He is also responsible for vendor and carrier management, information security, and network engineering.
Mr. Livingston entered the communications industry with Storer/Comcast communications where he worked as a Senior Technician and Area Supervisor. In 1984, Mr. Livingston joined a startup regional long-distance company, TSI-LineOne, and held multiple staff and managerial positions in operations and engineering between 1984 and 1991 while progressing through a series of telecom mergers with Southern Net, Teleconnect, Telecom*USA, and MCI.
Prior to joining USAN, Mr. Livingston spent 7 years with MCI/Telecom*USA in the operations and engineering organizations. Mr. Livingston holds over 20 professional certifications and is a Suma Cum Laude graduate of Colorado Technical University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management.
Farid Shenassa - Chief Technology Officer
Farid Shenassa joined USAN in 1990 in the software development organization. He has overall responsibility for the technology direction of the company. Mr. Shenassa developed many of USAN's key intellectual property assets, including our unique call-flow scripting language and environment, our distributed switch and VRU independent platform and our SS7 protocol and middle layer. In his current role he is responsible for all aspects of platform architecture (both TDM and VoIP), software design and vendor product integration.
Prior to joining USAN, Mr. Shenassa worked at CARD*Tel and was responsible for developing a real-time calling card and credit card authorization hub. Prior to that, he worked as a programmer/analyst at Johnson Wire Works and developed a manufacturing control and inventory tracking system used by divisions in the United States, Canada and the U.K.
Mr. Shenassa is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology where he earned both a BS and MS in Information and Computer Science.
Robert A. Armstrong - Vice President Sales
Rob Armstrong joined in 2005 to expand USAN's presence in the marketplace and to lead an expansion of sales initiatives leveraging USAN's experience and success in the enterprise and carrier market segment. Mr. Armstrong is a telecommunications industry veteran with over 20 years of experience in both wholesale and retail markets, product development and marketing.
Before joining USAN, Mr. Armstrong was Vice President of Sales at WilTel Communications and led the nationwide wholesale sales force responsible for $60+M in annual revenue. Prior to his five years with WilTel, Mr. Armstrong worked three years with BellSouth as Assistant Vice President of the seventy-person Wireless Interconnection organization. He served in a number of positions of increasing responsibility with MCI in support, sales, product development and marketing from 1988 to 1997, concluding with responsibility for all State Government and Higher Education markets for Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin. Mr. Armstrong began his career in telecommunications selling key systems, PBXs and paging systems for Executone Business Systems following graduation from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Donny Jackson - Senior Vice President Software Development
As Senior Vice President of Software Development at USAN, Donny Jackson is responsible for the complete life cycle of all the company's application and systems development projects including business analysis, technical consulting, project management, and the software development teams. Mr. Jackson joined USAN in 1992 and has over 20 years experience in the software development and telecom industries.
Prior to joining USAN, Mr. Jackson worked at Byers Engineering in Atlanta pioneering one of the first PC based Computer Aided Design systems for BellSouth and other Telecom customers. After Byers, Mr. Jackson joined National Data Corporation and led the design and implementation of a fully distributed network based development environment for Mainframe programmers. Mr. Jackson has a BS in computer science from Eastern Kentucky University.
Harry R. Miller - Senior Vice President Business Development and Marketing
Harry Miller has led USAN marketing and business development since September 2000. He has overseen expansion of the USAN product base and deployment of advanced features and technology, and managed further retail and carrier customer growth. Prior to joining USAN, Mr. Miller spent 10 years with Verizon and its predecessors, holding director positions in public affairs, state and federal regulatory policy, marketing and business development. In his last assignment, he led the business market segment of Verizon Long Distance. Before joining Verizon, Mr. Miller spent 15 years in education. He taught in high schools in Washington, D.C. and Vermont for 5 years and served 5 years as Chairman of the science department and physics professor at Vermont Technical College.
Prior to joining Verizon, he spent 5 years as Academic Dean at Vermont Tech and oversaw the launch of the Vermont Interactive Television, the nations first statewide interactive distance learning and governmental network. Before entering the academic field, Mr. Miller worked as a systems engineer for Bechtel in their nuclear reactor division.
Mr. Miller is a graduate of Lehigh University where he earned a BS in Natural Science, BS in Electrical Engineering and a MA in Arts (Education).
