The USAN platform consists of a set of modular and expandable switch, Voice Response Unit(VRU)  and adjunct processor systems which, when put together in various combinations, create the network platform. Within this platform resides robust Network IVR functionality to manage applications up to the most complex call center needs. The USAN architecture basically functions as a soft switch, in which the entire platform as a whole operates and manages its internal components and presents a single view to the rest of the network. In this configuration the internal communications mechanisms and protocols used between components of the platform are not exposed to the rest of the network and can be changed as needed. The USAN platform uses various vendor command and control APIs to manage the switch and VRU equipment over the TCP/IP protocol.

The USAN service offering is unique in that we integrate on a carrier-to-carrier basis, rather than a carrier to customer basis. As such, we use SS7 connectivity and are electronically bonded to carrier network operations centers (NOC) and their trouble management systems. This allows faster call set up times and more rapid diagnosis of troubles. Additionally, our platform supports IP voice transport with no need for any application changes.

The USAN IVR supports legacy touch tone services as well as a full range of speech applications. The platform supports basic press-or-say, directed dialog and full natural language applications. USAN consultants and developers can assist you in designing the most effective grammars, dialog and personas to meet the goals of your application and image.

USAN’s IVR solution allows all applications to access the complete suite of USAN’s advanced feature set. Because all features are available to all calls and all applications, you can move to new technologies without expensive upgrades to equipment or software license purchases. Use new features when they make sense to your business, not when the timing for a major capital purchase dictates.

You can also add enhanced features to any application, including speaker authentication, name and address capture, and text-to-speech.

The platform supports VXML, so you can use third party prepackaged solutions with your existing applications. Your applications can be written to run entirely on VXML or VXML components can be integrated with USAN scripting language.

USAN also supports fraud management for those applications that use the incoming call ANI for business logic. We have developed a fraud detection system to identify calls that have a high probability of having a “manipulated” ANI and treat them according to your fraud-handling rules.
